Durable Rolling Grilles With Multiple Benefits
Wayne-Dalton Rolling Grilles offer total security, visibility, and ventilation in a number of patterns and finishes for commercial, industrial, retail, and institutional applications. These grilles are available in steel, aluminum, or stainless steel to meet any need. Wayne-Dalton Rolling Grilles are designed to maximize security, visibility, and ventilation.
The durable construction technique used ensures that the grilles will offer many years of reliable and consistent performance. Materials & Construction Standard features include 5/16” galvanized steel horizontal rods, continuous from jamb to jamb, and covered with aluminum tubes. Vertical links are aluminum. End links ensure that the grille cannot be pulled from guides.
The bottom bar is a tubular aluminum extrusion, fitted with nylon end caps which act as bearing surfaces. Optional cylinder lock assembly in bottom bar activates concealed 3/8” steel tamperproof lock rods. Lock uses standard mortise cylinder, and is also available with an optional removable core. Center locks available up to 25' wide. Aluminum grille patterns are available in clear, mill, or bronze anodized finishes. Optional materials are #304 finished stainless steel and galvanized steel.
Powder coating is available in 180 colors. Powder coating is a dry finishing process in which finely ground particles of pigment and resin are electrostatically charged and sprayed onto the electrically grounded parts of rolling doors.These charged particles adhere to the rolling door parts until they melt and fuse into a solid coating in a curing oven. The result is a finish that radiates beauty and smoothness for an aesthetically pleasing grille.
Operation can be manual push-up, chain, crank, or motor-operated. Door mounting can be self-supporting, using structural tubes, or directly to the building structure. Counterbalance assembly consists of a spring barrel which serves as a load-carrying beam. It encases the counterbalance mechanism and provides the axis around which the curtain coils. (Deflection is limited to 0.033" per lineal foot of span.) If required, barrel rings of malleable iron or stamped steel may be provided to assure proper counterbalance. Oil-tempered, torsion-type counterbalance springs are wound from heat-treated steel, providing accuracy in balancing the door. Barrel plugs connect ends of springs to barrel and tension rod. Tension rod of steel shafting holds fixed ends of springs and carries torsional load of spring counterbalance. Spring tension adjusting wheel is normally mounted outside the bracket on end of tension rod. Inside adjusting wheel for tight side-room applications is available in limited sizes. Optional hood cover encloses curtain coil and counterbalance mechanism and is made to match the grille finish.
Access-Controlled Egress Security with Fail-Safe Automatic Opening
The Wayne-Dalton emergency egress grille provides secured access to public areas, yet will automatically open fully upon detection of an alarm or power failure. This prevents entrapment in the event of an emergency and allows immediate access to emergency personnel. The emergency egress grille is ideal for schools, hospitals, and office buildings, or other applications that require different levels of access at various times.
SentryGate® Grilles
SentryGate®3 Model ESG20, SentryGate®4 Model ESG21 SentryGate, a patented Cornell Product, is an alternative to traditional rolling grilles or counter grilles featuring a unique curtain comprised of injection molded components and continuous metal rods. Two configurations: The SentryGate is available in two models: * SentryGate®3 (Model ESG20) for countertops such as pharmacies and parts counters and smaller openings up to 14' W by 10' H. * SentryGate®4 (Model ESG21) for larger openings up to 23' 4" W x 14' H and where high cycling is required, such as parking garages and sally ports. Operation: Motor, hand crank, or push-up designs available. SentryGate Benefits:
- Quick Security Fix: A lightweight and compact design allows the unit to bolt directly to existing wall construction, frames or mullions. Side Folding Grilles
VisionGlide™ Open Curtain Model ESG30, VistaGlide™ Glazed Curtain Model ESG31 Side Folding Grilles and Closures provide security and access control in openings to 12' high with low headroom conditions. Track: The overhead track is an extruded heavy-duty aluminum section 1 1/2" wide, 1 7/8" high. Continuous recesses are extruded into profile to accept splice tongues and pins wherever track splices are necessary. Track required for curved openings has a standard 10" radius: 90°, 120°, 135°, and 150° curves are standard. Custom radii and angles offered. Multiple connecting sections can be incorporated. No floor track required. Operation: Manual push / pull operation. Side Folding Grille and Closure Benefits:
- Less Headroom Clearance: than rolling grilles.
- Space-saving Alignment: Curtains stack compactly at one end of an opening or bi-part and stack at both ends, typically require stack space equal to about 25% of opening width. Side Folding Grille and Closure Options Include:
- Pocket Door: Finished door and frame unit conceals stacked curtain when grille is retracted. Formed of bent steel and powder coated.
- Locking: Concealed cylinder-operated hook-bolt locks into full height strike channel and is operable from both sides of curtain. Cylinder-operated drop-bolt locks on intermediate members fit floor strike plates VisionGlide™ Side Folding Grilles Model ESG30 Open curtain, which allows free air circulation, is formed with a series of vertical 5/16" diameter aluminum tubes on 2" centers. Horizontal chains are formed of eyeletted aluminum links on 12", 9", 6" or 3" centers. A seriew of 6" high continuous interlocking extruded aluminum hinges panels forms the top and bottom of the curtain. The curtain is hung from an overhead track. Continuous vertical hangers are located at every fourth vertical tube. Hangers are equipped with trolley assemblies with two 1 1/8" diamter nylon tired ball bearing rollers. Finishes: Aluminum rods, tube spacers and lnik chains may be mill finish, clear or color anodized. Track, end members, intermediate members, and hinged panels may be clear or color anodized. VistaGlide™ Side Folding Closures Model ESG31 Curtain with glazed or solid aluminum panels creates a security barrier and blocks refuse, odors and smoke. Continuous vertical interlocking aluminum pivoting sections are set on 5 1/2" centers. Interlocking sections are fitted with either glazing panels in clear, flame retardant 1/8" thick polycarbonate material, G.E. Lexan® or equal; or solid aluminum panels to deny visual access. Panels run full height between 5 1/2" high extruded aluminum closure panels at top and bottom. Hanger tubes at every other closure panel are fitted with trolley assemblies and nylon tired ball bearing rollers that support the curtain. Finishes: Aluminum parts may be clear or color anozided.
